Finally, finally finished site redesign
May 26, 2007
It's finally, finally done. Unbelievable. For roughly the last six or something years, my web site has been minimalistic and in a perpetual state of “temporary.” One of the last things I was researching back at my last job was the possibility of using a blogging system to improve intra-project communication and collaboration. I never really found a blogging system I liked, but I did find one that was almost reasonable. That research was the catalyst that helped me get focused on fixing my very outdated web site. And as is typical for me, just rolling-out a standard blog isn’t good enough; I fell victim to my OCD again and had to completely rewrite the template layer.
Well, it’s finally done. Going forward, I hope to write roughly one entry a day, but I suspect I’ll end up being too busy frequently. I’m working for Petfinder, part of Animal Planet, which is itself part of Discovery. DCI (Discovery Communication, Inc.) is a pretty cool place to work. Well, not exactly “place” because I work from home, as does my entire team. I’m the Director of Technology, managing a team of software engineers, web developers, and system administrators. Although I work from home and can recapture all that commute time, I suspect I’m going to continue to be a very busy person.
